Support Jordan Middle School

At Jordan Middle School parents strive to support the best education possible for their children. Fortunately, your continuous financial support makes this happen.  The Jordan PTA plays an important role in supporting this great school by working hard to provide the “extras” that enrich our children’s educational experience. The Jordan PTA provided Jordan Middle School with over $170,000 last year to supplement it’s amazing programs.  How can we continue to support Jordan?  There are several ways.

Jordan PTA

Jordan PTA membership provides parents with the forum and tools to collectively influence the decisions that affect children not only at their schools, but also throughout their districts, within their state, and across the nation.   For information about how to join Jordan PTA, contact the Jordan PTA Membership Coordinator.

Jordan PTA provides both funding and volunteers to help Jordan Middle School provide the programs necessary to support the highest quality educational experience possible. n

Fundraising for Jordan Middle School

The PTA works closely with the Principal and Site Council to determine Jordan’s needs and the appropriate source for funding each need.  Examples of programs funded through Jordan PTA include:

  • Arts & Enrichment: The PTA brings artists and authors to campus and supports our music, drama, Science Expo, Library, Home Economics, Social Studies and PE programs to engage students in a deeper learning experience.
  • Facilities & Technology: The PTA continues to be one of the sources necessary to upgrade our aging and outdated classroom, computer and JTV equipment.
  • Student & Family Support: The PTA assists with student orientation and school climate programs, important adolescent counseling services, the Youth Community Service Program, the successful after school Homework Center, student and academic achievement recognition programs, and student scholarships and support where needed. We support parent education programs and many events that bring our school community together.
  • Teaching Support: The PTA puts resources in the hands of teachers through grants for curriculum enrichment and innovation and by supporting staff development projects to insure state-of-the-art practices in critical core subjects and a strong working team.  We help provide much needed classroom teaching supplies and well-deserved teacher and staff appreciation events for our dedicated school leaders.

Jordan Annual Just Ask

Jordan Annual Just Ask is a direct appeal to all Jordan families at the beginning of the school year.  It is the source of the majority of funds collected each year and is a wonderful opportunity for you to make a meaningful difference in your child’s education.  This is your PTA and we ask that you support the PTA and be as generous as possible.  The suggested contribution is $300 per student and we encourage you to give more if you can. However, no contribution is too small.  We would like to have all families participate so, although we provide a requested amount per student each year, any size donation is greatly appreciated.  Please don’t forget to check to see if your company has a matching gift program that will further leverage your contribution!  For more information, contact the VP of Ways and Means.

Jordan Just Parties

Jordan Just Parties is both a fundraiser and a community builder.  Families host donated parties throughout the year and they are offered to other interested families for purchase.  Examples might include a theme dinner or wine tasting at the host’s home, a special event such as a 7th grade student and dad bike ride or a family picnic and Stanford baseball game.  Events are offered at the beginning of each year at a PTA sponsored event on a first-come, first-served basis.  After the event, any party openings available, are advertised in the Jordan PTA weekly eNews.  For more information, contact the Just Parties Chair or see the Just Parties information located at this website under PTA Programs.

Volunteering

This is a critical time in your child’s development and education, and middle school students are not as easily accessible as elementary school students.  When parents volunteer for school activities at Jordan, it gives them a chance to be a “fly on the wall,” and get an insiders view of their kids’ school lives.  Volunteering also provides another way to connect with your child, and support our thriving community. I encourage all of you to check our web site and ENews periodically for useful school and PTA information.  The Jordan PTA provides an array of opportunities for parents to get involved at Jordan Middle school.    To get involved with Jordan PTA, contact the VP of Volunteer Coordinating at jordanptavolunteer@gmail.com, or look at the opportunities and sign up online at Jordan PTA Volunteers on uptous.com.

Partners in Education(PiE)

In addition to the PTA, you will be receiving a direct appeal from “Partners in Education”, the Palo Alto district-wide fundraising effort. PiE funds are used to cover additional staffing needs because the PTA may not do so by district policy.  Please be assured that PTA, PiE and the Principal are working closely to coordinate our efforts.  To understand how each organization contributes to Jordan Middle School, please visit the following link:
